A word from our Chief Botanical Officer
'While working at a gin distillery in the UK, I fell in love with the use of botanicals in distilling and the fascinating world of cocktails. Having grown up with beer in the Netherlands, it was only natural that I began to wonder what would happen if you brewed with these botanicals instead of distilling. I became curious about what kind of character these herbs, spices and fruits could give to beer.
To my surprise, I discovered that the Low Countries actually have quite an intriguing history when it comes to brewing with botanicals. When Dutch explorers traveled the world, they returned with loads full of precious herbs and exotic spices, which soon found their way into Dutch beer.
AND SO THE IDEA FOR LOWLANDER BEER WAS BORN.
It is our belief that a little Dutch ingenuity combined with the power of nature creates limitless possibilities. Over the past 6 years, this belief has allowed us to be successful in brewing with botanicals to expand the horizons of beer. At the same time, we are very conscious of the fact that we should never take nature's beauty and benefits for granted. And so we challenge ourselves to brew beers that take less and also give back to nature - on our way to positively impact nature by 2030.
I invite you to follow our journey, cheers!
