Access to drinking water is the foundation under a healthy and productive livelihood! In fact, it has been a human right since 2010, but for 703,000,000 people, getting safe water is a daily task. That's 1 in 10 people on earth.
Heady numbers if you ask us! That's why we started this new initiative to contribute to the solution of this problem! Providing clean drinking water in areas where it is desperately needed, combined with producing a tasty wine, where our passion lies, is the perfect opportunity to contribute to a better world!
- CO2 SAVING
When people depend on contaminated water, they boil it for use, often on open fires, especially in remote areas. By making clean drinking water available, this is no longer necessary and much less wood or coal is burned, saving a lot of CO2 emissions and harmful smoke.
- MINOR PLASTIC
Our water projects also save a lot of plastic in developing countries. This is because people without access to safe drinking water often buy water in plastic bags or disposable bottles, especially in urban areas.
In many cases, this plastic ends up on the streets and in rivers after use and eventually becomes part of the plastic soup. A water supply in a slum will make people use jerry cans and stop throwing away plastic.
